【A Thought of Ecstasy】
Human beings have A Thought of Ecstasysent all sort of things into space, from Luke Skywalker's lightsaber to Lego mini-figures of Galileo and the Roman deities Jupiter and Juno, or even a pizza.
Now it's the turn of a meat and potato pie, to boldly go where no pie has gone before. Well, sort of.

Space enthusiasts from a group called SentIntoSpace attached a camera and tracking equipment to monitor the pie's journey into space, up to 100,000ft (30km).
The aim was to check if the journey changed the molecular structure of the pie making it quicker to eat.
It was hoped that the pie would freeze as it soared from the earth's crust and would be cooked as it speeded up on re-entry.
"This is the first step to enable mankind to consume pies with more elegance and comfort. Neither the sky, nor the pie, should be the limit," said Bill Kenyon of Ultimate Purveyors from St Helens, who made the pie.
Turns out the sky and the pie do have limits. Technically, it didn't get anywhere near space. People still seemed to have enjoyed the idea though!
