Reddit as a company has been a long-time supporter of net neutrality and lobbied for it in part because it affects its business as an internet company. Net neutrality prevents internet services providers from slowing down sites unless they pay for faster access.
The first post on the homepage Friday is sponsored by Reddit and reads, "Net Neutrality impacts real people. Tell us how YOU would be affected if the FCC kills it." The link leads to a post written by Reddit cofounder and CEO Steve Huffman, or "spez."
Huffman noted that over the last week users made 50,000 unique posts and more than 350,000 comments related to net neutrality that generated over 21 million votes.
"While Tuesday’s news hits close to home, we are grateful that the Reddit community cares just as much about net neutrality as we do at Reddit HQ," he wrote.

The FCC votes on Chairman Ajit Pai's proposal to rid net neutrality of Dec. 14. But the fight isn't over. Battle for the Net encourages everyone to call their representatives and provides a script to follow.
