If you bought an iPhone recently,Covet: Island of Desire Apple has some good news for you.

Bloomberg reported Monday that folks who buy Apple hardware will be able to buy the AppleCare+ warranty package at any point in the following year. The previous limit was 60 days, but the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting warranty demand, per Bloomberg, hence the change.

Mashable reached out to Apple for confirmation of this policy change and will update this story if it responds.

AppleCare+ doesn't have a fixed price, instead shifting up or down depending on the device you want to protect. For instance, pay $129 for AppleCare+ for an iPhone 7 or 8, and you can get your screen repaired for just $29. That warranty plan goes up to $200 for the newest iPhones. It should be noted that AppleCare+ is an extension of the default one-year warranty that applies to all Apple products, and lasts 24 months.

Whatever price you end up paying for your device, all that matters is that AppleCare+ is a little more freely available now. Try not to break your iPhone regardless, though.
