【Married Women’s Sex Party】
You probably know Joss Whedon best for writing groundbreaking empowerment narratives for the fictional women of Buffy the Vampire Slayer,Married Women’s Sex PartyFirefly, and the upcoming Batgirl. But he's also helping female talents off the screen find their power and voice.
In this footage debuting on Mashable, Whedon joins singer-songwriter Shawnee Kilgore for an intimate recording session.
This past January, you might've caught the duo's other musical collaboration, Back to Eden, in a video directed by Whedon. The latest footage provides an intimate look at their recording and creative process, as Kilgore shows off her earnest, folksy soprano acoustics.

In the Kickstarter video, she sang a tribute to Bob Dylan's 'Subterranean Homesick Blues'while holding up title cards. They told her story and love of making music, but difficulty supporting her art without help. Kilgore's unique, dulcet tones captivated Whedon's ear, while her earnest passion captured his attention.
He backed her project, and has since been lending his time and talent between creating some of pop culture's most memorable touchstones.
The footage provides several sneak peeks at their album, which combines Kilgore's passionate music-making with Whedon's deft writing shaping the lyrics. The album will also feature musicians like Nickel Creek's Sara Watkins on fiddle and backing vocals.
Kilgore's album title, A Long and Precious Road, could not be more appropriate for this match made in heaven.
The EP Back To Eden is available on iTunes now.
